Rare Cape Winemakers Guild magnums at Big Bottle Festival

A Masterclass of rare wines sold as magnums at past Nedbank Cape Winemakers Guild Auctions will be one of the highlights of this year’s Big Bottle Festival at the Cape Town Club on Saturday, 22 August 2015.

Hosted by Gary Jordan, a longstanding member of the Guild, the dedicated tasting comprises six different magnums spanning CWG auctions from as early as 1999 to 2013.

The wines are:

De Trafford Sijnn Syrah 2011 (2013 Auction)

Vriesenhof Pinot Noir 2010 (2011 Auction)

Edgebaston Cabernet Sauvignon Auction Reserve 2010 (2010 Auction)

Le Riche Cabernet Sauvignon 1998 (1999 Auction)

Jordan Cabernet Sauvignon 1999 (2002 Auction)

Graham Beck Coffee Stone Cabernet Franc 2000 (2002 Auction)

The Masterclass takes place at 19h45 and needs to be booked separately at R100 per person in addition to the entry ticket to the Big Bottle Festival Walkabout which runs from 15h00 until 20h00. 

The festival offers guests the chance to sip and swirl some of South Africa’s finest vintages all poured from big bottles paired with a selection of canapés.
