In 2011 Jeff Grier's item for the Cape Winemakers Guild Silent Auction was a game drive in the Villiera Wildlife Sanctuary followed by a six course dinner for six people in Villiera's newly renovated tasting room, to be prepared by chef Christophe Dehosse of the Joostenberg Bistro and hosted by the Grier family. Each course was to be paired with a different Cap Classique in the Villiera range.

Cape Winemakers Guild Protégés make their own wines

Wed, 04/11/2012 - 16:30 -- cwg

All aspirant winemakers participating in the Cape Winemakers Guild Protégé Programme  have been given the rare opportunity of making their own wines in their own dedicated Quintessence French oak barrels donated by the Cape Cooperage Group.  This Paarl based company has extended its support of the Guild’s Protégé Programme by donating a barrel to every Protégé in his or her second year until 2014, ensuring that current and future Protégés will have the opportunity to experiment with their own wines.
